Osceola Muscat, also known as Muscat de Swenson, is a versatile and hardy grape variety bred by renowned grape breeder Elmer Swenson. Developed from a mix of French and North American grape species, this variety thrives in cooler climates. Named after Osceola, Wisconsin, where it was bred, Osceola Muscat produces small to medium-sized, intensely aromatic grapes with notes of peach and apricot. These yellow-green, thin-skinned grapes are excellent for fresh eating, juice, and winemaking. Known for its early bud break and high vigor, Osceola Muscat ripens in early to mid-September and can withstand temperatures as low as -30°F, making it one of the hardiest muscat varieties available.
